Well, what a perfect picture from Beck to wrap up our photo journey through June 2012. We had lots of fun showing you what we like best about USC and the Sunshine Coast, and we hope you had fun exploring the sights with us. We’ll be back soon with another photo essay.
Snapshot Sunday: random glimpses (coffee caravan in Noosa) (Taken with Instagram)
The weather is a bit ordinary again today, which ruled out the beach. (Although we’ve had beach photos pretty well covered already this week.) So while we were driving around I thought I’d give you a glimpse from the car window (taken as a passenger, of course!) of a great little spot I stumbled across the other week. Unfortunately it was closed today, but when it is open, it is a fabulous coffee spot under a huge fig tree in no-man’s land on the corner of a busy roundabout. They put out crates to sit on so you can watch the world zoom by - or collect it to-go and zoom off yourself. I like the simplicity of it all.

Retail therapy (Taken with Instagram)
A bit of a grey chilly day on the coast today - a big contrast to the week of blue skies and sunshine we have had. What to do on the coast when you want a break from the elements? A bit of retail therapy seems in order. Plaza here we come. Although I have to confess to being a bit of a regular there. With living so close and having two teenage daughters it seems it seems unavoidable. Curse that bright shiny plaza and all the temptations it beholds!

A beautiful winter sunrise this morning. Beautiful rays of sunshine beaming down over our gorgeous coastline. Couldn’t resist pausing to enjoy before the cycle to work.

Busy day today, hence the late afternoon post. Clear winter skies mean stunning sunsets, even when they’re flashing past outside the car window.

Snapshot Sunday: coastal strolls
It seems like it has been a long time coming, but we have a beautiful, sunny winter’s Sunday. A perfect day for taking a long walk along one of the pathways that follow the coastline near Peregian. There are so many of these great walks up and down the Sunshine Coast to choose from. They can be as short or as long as your energy levels allow for. They can also give you some great scenic glimpses that you don’t get from the car window. So here are my two shots today - one moment you’re on a coastal dune overlooking some pretty nice surf breaks (the packed-out carpark attests to this spot’s popularity today) and within 800 metres you’re walking in the cool shade alongside a freshwater swamp. Beats walking on a treadmill in your living room ;)
