Snapshot Sunday: random glimpses (coffee caravan in Noosa) (Taken with Instagram)
The weather is a bit ordinary again today, which ruled out the beach. (Although we’ve had beach photos pretty well covered already this week.) So while we were driving around I thought I’d give you a glimpse from the car window (taken as a passenger, of course!) of a great little spot I stumbled across the other week. Unfortunately it was closed today, but when it is open, it is a fabulous coffee spot under a huge fig tree in no-man’s land on the corner of a busy roundabout. They put out crates to sit on so you can watch the world zoom by - or collect it to-go and zoom off yourself. I like the simplicity of it all.
Snapshot Sunday: coastal strolls
It seems like it has been a long time coming, but we have a beautiful, sunny winter’s Sunday. A perfect day for taking a long walk along one of the pathways that follow the coastline near Peregian. There are so many of these great walks up and down the Sunshine Coast to choose from. They can be as short or as long as your energy levels allow for. They can also give you some great scenic glimpses that you don’t get from the car window. So here are my two shots today - one moment you’re on a coastal dune overlooking some pretty nice surf breaks (the packed-out carpark attests to this spot’s popularity today) and within 800 metres you’re walking in the cool shade alongside a freshwater swamp. Beats walking on a treadmill in your living room ;)
Well, my Sunday has rolled around again, and conveniently on a long weekend. The great thing about long weekends is there is no shortage of visitors when you live on the Sunshine Coast. So, despite the rain (again <sigh>), we’re enjoying a back deck BBQ with friends who have made the journey from Brisbane. And maybe, just maybe, there will be a quick trip down to the beach for the kids to play in the sand…
A day in a month photo essay…Snapshot Sunday on the not-so-sunshine Coast.
So the weather was dreary, but it didn’t stop us getting to the Farmers Market at Noosa this morning. It is a Sunday morning ritual - local produce (including rhubarb today), hot coffee, and a walk past the mangrove flats. It might have been wet, but the puddles were great :)
