Point Cartwright sunrise. Another beautiful day on the Coast. #usc #bestofbothworlds
I love working at USC - this is the view from my desk today. All this week, the roos have been mingling with the students on the grass outside my window, eating lunch together and enjoying the glorious sunshine.
Riding the paddle boats is definitely on my to-do list this month. These two were joined by about 10 happy, well-fed ducks as they paddled up and down the river at Sunshine Plaza.
Lunch in the park on Buderim Hill. Fine views of the Coast… and the University nestled resplendently in the landscape.
One of the top spots on the southern end of the Coast - Bulcock Beach looking towards the Caloundra Bar. The coastline here has changed dramatically over the nearly 25 years I’ve lived on the Coast. Where there was once a long sandy esplanade there’s now breaking waves.
Not a bad view for dinner on a Thursday night looking out over Mooloolaba beach. Mooloolaba bar and grill is a great place to catch up with friends. Can’t go wrong with a $15 parmy night!
Wednesday night is 6-a-side football at Buderim FC’s Ballinger Park. Clearly, this Kookaburra had seen enough and took flight midway through the 2nd half. We’ll all be back for the next round same time next week. :)
This has got to be the best way to start the weekend! Another amazing winter day and the sun is streaming through the house. Now I just have to decide what to do today - picnic at Cotton Tree park, walk along Mooloolaba beach, coffee with friends beside the river at Sunshine Plaza, or maybe all three!
We couldn’t do a pic a day without a gratuitous kangaroo shot. Figured I’d get in first… The resident roos are friendly enough, but are still wild animals and need to be treated as such - fine to look, just don’t try and touch. Around 50 Eastern Greys split their time between the campus and the adjoining Mooloolah River National Park.
Pretty tough seeing this on your way to work and not having the day off! Kawana beach is nice and quiet mid-week except for the odd dog owner, retired couple or mum and bub taking a morning walk. I’m lucky to say this view is just down the end of my street. At least it’s only a 10 min drive to work at USC and I get to come back to this every afternoon. Keep it up sun and I’ll see you again on the weekend :)
