Day 1-5
Throughout the month of May the staff from the USC Library, our campus centrepiece, will be sharing their story. Quiet and calm, yet full of energy and friendly people, the Library has a lot to offer students, staff and visitors alike. For many, a library is just a place to pick-up and drop-off books or a location for studying and reading. Over the next 31 days the dedicated Library team will demonstrate a host of other activities available to you, and prove that you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover.

USC student: Rob Burton
Program: Bachelor of Environmental Science
GO destination: Ecuador (Universaid of San Francisco, de Quito)
With a passion for the natural world, Rob’s work as a student research assistant involved observing and collecting data on the feeding and foraging behaviours of the marmosets and tamarins. Rob even worked with a BBC crew for 11 days while they filmed a documentary series called Planet Primate. Thanks Rob for sharing your adventures with us.
During the month that USC student Caroline Berkeley was in Africa for her work placement, she worked across a variety of projects relating to the parks conservation management strategy, spending lots of time in the beautiful African wilderness collecting data.
One of the projects included assisting veterinary researchers test animals for tuberculosis (TB) - a very serious issue in many African countries affecting humans and animals. Caroline is bravely pictured here next to a white rhino which has been darted in order to conduct the tests.
